About Us

Photo-System Physics Lab

The Photo-System Physics Laboratory was launched in 1997 by Professor Keiji Sasaki when he was appointed Full Professor at the Research Institute for Electronic Science (RIES). The RIES is affiliated to Hokkaido University, one of the most prestigious national universities of Japan, and is best known for the multidisciplinary activities in science and technology including physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics.
We study next-generation optical measurements, optical manipulation and optical communications, with actively promoting collaboration with world-class scientists in the fields of photo-molecular chemistry, life science, mathematical information science and so on.
